Western Avenue Studios presents:
Come to Western Avenue Studios during the February First Saturday Open Studios on February 1st between 12-5pm for a special event - Gifts from the HeART. Pick up a postcard on your way into any of our buildings, visit participating studios and lofts, collect stickers from the artists, browse the art, and buy Valentine's Day gifts for all. Deposit your postcard with your contact information in the box on your way out for a chance to win one of three gift certificates to spend at the participating studios and lofts.
Here's a list of participating artists: http:// Visit 15 or more studios and lofts for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate. Visit 25 or more studios and lofts for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate. Visit 35 or more studios and lofts for a chance to win a $75 gift certificate. Hearts will mark the entryways to participating studios and lofts. No purchase necessary! Drawing will be held on the day of the event. You need not be present to win. Winners will be contacted. |
Join us for this auction which you can bid on some eligible singles along with music, poetry, readings, comedy and art. Proceeds go towards COOL - The Cultural Organization of Lowell, which is a Lowell non profit whose mission is to expand the creative economy here in Lowell by partnering with arts, culture and community organizations. COOL markets and promote events and artists. She looks to add cultural events in city wide events like Folk Festival, Winterfest and City of Lights parade. She helps produceconferences, mixers and educational seminars to help bring artists together and to assist in growing businesses. COOL is not a city department but works with the city as well as other organizations. COOL raises all its money through donations and grants.
With this event there are 16 singles (straight, gay& lesbian) which you would be able to bid. As you enter (there is a $5 donation at the door) you can sign up for a number. Jack Baldwin of Live at Jack's Cafe will be our auctioneer. As we proceed through the auction raise your number high and often to bid on that person. You will be expected to settle at the end of the night with cash, credit or check.
Performances by Carl Johnson, Princess Chan, Dave Robinson, The Bella Birds, Kassie Dickinson Rubico, Angkor Dance Troupe, Johannah Susanna Zacharer, Seth Bailin and The Party Band.
